Gift Making Extravaganza Event

Wow, it has been a lot of work but I finally have my projects finalized and the newsletter with all the information is sent.  I started it this morning and here it is late at night and I have finally finish. 

It would have gone much quicker if I could have written it without all the distractions.  You know how it is, the phone rings and it is your parents so you talk a while, then a lunch break, then you find out you don't have enough pictures so you hope the sun will come out but after checking the weather report you know that is not going to happen at all this week so you take dark photos and hope for the best, back to the computer and more distractions, your daughter's doing her homework and thinks you can help her write a paper while you are writing an newsletter, another daughter does not want to do her practicing so she comes down to visit with you instead, another daughter keeps checking her email to see if she made the youth orchestra she tried out for on Sunday, then dinner and off to bed so you think you will have a few minutes to finish the newsletter because your husband is at a meeting and the girls are in bed or gone to meetings but alas more distractions, your husband is driving and has nothing to do but call you and talk and ask how your newsletter is coming which you inform him it would be coming along better if you were not trying to write it and talk on the phone at the same time.  And that is how the first item on my to do list did not get done until 10:PM.  I am guessing all of you have had days like this.

Bella Birds Clipboard Frame

May is Mother's Day and what says mother better than family.  For my project at Weekend at Wendy's I created this family frame.  It is just a clipboard covered with Bella Birds Designer Series paper and Eastern Bloom Stamp set accents. 

The frame is designed to hold either horizontal or vertical photos with a flip of the card-stock you can put in either size and easily rotate your photos.

The picture I have inserted in this frame hides behind the other photo but for a taller photo I would just turn the card-stock pieces that frame the photo around in the clear envelope sheets so only the accents show. 

To adhere the papers to the clipboard I use Tombow white glue and to adhere the ribbons I use Snail Adhesive.  The clear envelopes have the top flap cut off and then I use sticky strip to adhere the envelopes to the clipboard.

Jingle Frame

 

This cute little jingle frame will look great anyway and will make you smile. 

 

This is a quick and easy project using the new Home Decor vinyl that will sure to please anyone on your gift list.

 

It is easy to do and glue dots hold the glass in place.  You can also punch out photos with a square punch and adhere them to the glass surrounding the words and you have a scrapbook for the wall.

 

Supply cost: $7.00 and that includes the standing frame.

 

This class is held: Friday, November 14th 10am-10pm and/or Saturday, November 15th 1pm-12pm.

Shadow Box

 

I loved this Shadow box idea when it was presented at convention and really enjoyed making one of my own.

The shadow box is created with the new home decor elements which are so easy to do and once you try them you will want to rub them on to everything.

 

It will be filled for Thanksgiving  or Fall for the class but you can change the filler inside for the different seasons of the year.

Stars for 4th of July

Apples for back to school

and if you want it can be filled with a generic filler and left out as is all year long.

Gift Making Extravaganza

This week has been filled with many hours of stamping time designing projects for an upcoming class.  I decided to offer a class that will allow you to come and create great gifts for your friends and family.   

The class will be $10.00 plus a supply fee for each project ranging from $4.00 to $38.00. You can make as many of the different projects as you want and as many of one projects as you need.  Over this next few days I will highlight one of these projects.

Halloween Happiness

I had to share with you all a couple of the Halloween things that made me happy this week. 

Monika, one of my downline, came to scrapbooking class and share with me her "Frank".  He is so cute and made from the Big Shot envelope die, some circle punches used both full circles and half circles, she added a marker smile and stitching to complete the card. 

I loved him he makes me smile. 

I also loved getting out my Halloween decorations this year and fanning out my paper pumpkins I made last year and hanging them up.  They made me smile.  I loved how easy they are to make.  You take 6 1" x 12" pieces of designer Series papers punch a hole in the middle at 6" ( I use the crop-a-dial for this and do them all at one time) and then punch a hole on each end.  Feed ribbon through the middle hole and then up through both end.  Tie knots to make the shape of the pumpkin you want and fan out the paper piece.  I loved how well they stored last year because I just slipped the paper piece back together so they could be fanned out again this year.

October's Hands On Class is Christmas

  What fun I had designing October's Hands On Class projects this past week in a Christmas theme.  I know it is never too early to start making gifts for those you love and I think these two projects will be perfect gifts. 

I am excited to have everyone try out the new Big Shot on the candle holder and make a beautiful tissue candle to go inside.  We will also be making the clear plates with 4 Holiday accents that can be switched on and off the glass plate and we will also be making a Christmas Card.

Chipboard Crazy

I love chipboard, I love it sponged on, stamped on, naked.  I love to use the chipboard pieces as patterns for sponging or the negitives any way I can. 

For my newsletter this month I highlighted chipboard and thought I would include a few of the ideas here as well. 

This first sample is a 8 1/2x 8 1/2 scrapbooking page we made at convention.  The "you" is the new On Board Loads of Letters #112084 in the Fall/Winter collection.  I love that the new chipboard letters have more than one of each letter which makes it easier to  write words with.  These letters are sponged with Craft White ink.  I also love the felt flower accent with one of the new button for the flower center.

The next sample is a home decor item that one of my best Stampin' Friends made me for convention, her name is Wendy too.   

It is made from the On Board Book Basics small.  She added a couple jumbo brads and some ribbon and one of my favorite parts is the Home Decor vinyl. 

I just had to add my photo (or our photo, these are my convention roommates) and the rub the vinyl over the photo and it is ready to hang on my wall and remind me of great friendships and fun times.

The last project was another convention project.  It is a book mark. 

We took a chipboard frame and added a little bit of desinger papers a stamped accent and added this to one end of our new ribbon and one of the new brads on the other end and have a great gift or practical item for you to use. 

The chipboard has Old Olive craft ink sponge onto it.  Make sure it is completely dry before you try to glue anything to it because glue does not like to stick to wet craft ink. 

Tysha's Dorm

What fun we had this weekend finding decorations for Tysha's dorm room.  She has been at Columbus for a couple of weeks and called to say she wanted me to come decorate her dorm and that her roommates had agreed.  It is always fun to start with a fresh canvas and create. 

 I love the new Decor Elements and that you can use them in dorms and apartments to create that "home" feel without breaking the rules.  And when she is checks out next spring we will just peal them off the wall. 

Decor Elements are very easy to apply.  You rub the back of element (grid side) up with applicator tool until the image sticks to the transfer sheet.  Carefully pull of backing sheet (grid) making sure you don't let the transfer sheet stick to itself.  If you have problems getting the backing sheet to release the image put it in the fridge to cool it down and it will transfer quicker.  (we love Atlanta's hot weather???)   Once you have the backing removed carefully place it on the wall where you want the image to be.  Don't press on the image so ifyou need to adjust it a little you can pull it away from the wall and put it back up. 

Now just use the applicator tool and rub the image on the wall.  Starting at the center and rub from the top to the bottom, working outward. 

 Then carefully pull the transfer paper off the wall watching to make sure the image stays on the wall. If you missed rubbing a spot lay transfer sheet back on wall and rub it, then pull off.  After the image has been transfered to the wall you can smooth the image with your hand.

The decor elements come in Chocolate Chip, White, some images in Kraft and coming this fall we will get colored images.  They are also doing Holiday rubons and 2-step rub ons.  I can't wait.  These are so easy to use and make great gifts as well as a wonderful way to add a little extra to your walls.

The only funny part about all the work we did is Tysha is so busy with her music she leaves at 6am and gets back to the dorm around 10pm-11pm so she is mostly just sleeping there.
