After over 35 years of scrapbooking I sometimes wonder if it will always be my passion or will I get tired of it? Well, for now it is still my passion.
I am working on my 3rd daughter's graduation books as well as trying to stay up to date on current happenings. You have to make time to scrapbook or it seems life is always too busy to squeeze it into free time. I mean who really has any FREE time.
I liked the layout of this page and I thought it worked well for a sports page. My girls are not really into sports much but they do enjoy playing with the youth here on camp once in a while. I used Stampin' Up!'s Extreme Elements stamp set for the background accents. I liked the folded down corner, this gave me an accent for color on the second page.
A hint for hand writing your journaling. I use a ruler and pencil and draw lines on my page or stamp journaling lines. Then write on your lines with a pencil, I first jot down what I want to say on scratch paper. When you write with pencil first it gives you an idea on how the writing will fit and if you need to delete or change a word you can with an eraser. Once I get the penciled words right I copy over the penciled words with a black permanent marker, then erase the pencil marks. I don't necessarily copy it exact just write over what you already wrote.
Journaling makes all the difference. I was looking back on some old scrapbooks of my third daughter looking for information I might have forgotten about her birth and her first few months of life. I had scrapbooked the events but left emotion out of my journaling. I had the dates and times and places but I did not give details on how I felt or thought. Put a little emotion and feelings into your journaling and you will love the pages you create for years to come.
