Several years ago I started scrapbooking in a pattern Stacy Julian taught in her book The Big Picture and this page is one of the reasons I love that format so well.
I was a chronological scrapbooker and I was repeating events in all four of my daughters scrapbooks. Let's just say that to do one two-page spread 4 times was not as much fun as it used to be. That was when I read Stacy's book. She outlines how she no longer scraps in order but what she is interested in scrapbooking today. She also has different albums she files her pages under and this was the eye opener to me. I now how similar albums. One for each member of our family, a book about things we do, and another for places we go and my favorite is people we love. I love the people we love book because I am now scrapbooking grandparents, uncles, good friends. Those pictures that don't seem to fit into a child's album and yet hold great memories for me.
This page will be filed in my People we love book, it was a picture I ran across when I was looking for another event and I took just a moment to drop it onto a page. It is a picture of my youngest brother and my dad laughing together. They are both camera shy and hard to catch them in a picture and posing them is a lot of work so I treasure this photo of them which shows their natural smiles.
The page is created with Stampin' Up!'s Always stamp set. The colors are Soft Suede and Really Rust, (I used Cajun Craze accents) and the roller is Always in Bloom.
My scrapbooking class here in Saudi Arabia is coming up on Saturday, April 16th. I hope you will join me and start filling your albums with memories you family will treasure their whole lives.
