My daughter got invited to a birthday party here in Saudi and since just running to the store to find something special is very hard here I decided to sit down and create a mini album for her to give her friend. It was a big hit at the party which is always nice when your child's gift they give is perceived as special.
This book is made from Chocolate Chip cardstock and Stampin' Up!'s Play Date designer series paper pack. The large flowers are from the paper and I just added a button and tag to give it a layered look. The closer is a tag punch and word window punch. I glued the tag to the back of the album and scored it twice for the thickness of the book and fed it through a word window punch on the front. I added a dimension with circle punch accent so it catches on the opening and does not fall open.
To make the book I used 2 sheets of 12x12 cardstock and cut them in half and scored them at 5 3/4 and 6 inches and glued two of the 6" scored side on top of each other and repeat for other two sheets then glue that set cross wise on top of the first strip to form the plus sign. The book has 4 layers glued together for the middle section. Fold the scored flaps in and decorate on all sides with accents and pictures.
I used the large flower punch with circle punch accents as well as paper accents from the designer series paper Play Date.
