What a wonderful weekend we had as a STARZ group this past weekend. I call it Weekend at Wendy's and anyone in my down-line is invited to come and stay at my home and enjoy a weekend of stamping, business, networking and great food cooked by Ted, my husband.
This year we had 10 of us. Each person brings a shoebox swap. This year the theme was wow projects and they were wow.
We made flower pot card with the die cut daisy, file folder box w/mini cards using the mini catalog Oval All Stamp set, backpack, clipboard frame using Eastern bloom stamp set, pound puppy carrier with texture plates, envelope scrapbook using Playful Petals stamp set, wine glass lampshades using Fresh cuts stamp set, butterfly box w/cards and envelopes with die cut butterflies and the Great Friend stamp set, card packet w/pen and notebook using the Scene in a Garden stamp set, and dum dum suckers in a box made from the large heart punch. Everyone's projects were top quality and something we can use in our classes which makes the weekend worth the time, effort and money it takes to come. I don't know anyone who comes that does not feel like it's worth it.
Ted made some wonderful treats and meals for all of us. We had Parmesan Chicken one night and pork chops w/sweet potatoes and pears another. Fresh apple cake one night and Chocolate Lava cakes the next. We had curry chicken salad sandwiches and soups and hot rolls for lunches and in between times he made several cookies we ate hot as well as fruit dip, veggie tray and dip and a wonderful cheese ball to snack on.
I think the best part of the weekend is the sharing of projects and ideas. Everyone brings ideas to share of projects they have been making in their classes. We all take pictures and get directions and for some projects we remake them late at night so we won't forget. The networking and learning that goes on during the weekend is priceless.
