May is National Scrap-booking Month. I think that is perfect since May is also the month of Mother's Day. I have been asked to teach a photography class at a youth conference and the theme of their conference is Building Bridges. I had to think how I could incorporate the theme into what I would be teaching and then I thought how scrap-booking and photography builds bridges from one generation to the next. When you look at a photo of your mom at the same age as your daughter or when she was engaged, you see her differently.
When you understand the sacrifices she made to raise you it brings you closer to one another. Studies have also shown that looking at photos is a good way to change your mood for the better. Taking and looking at photos relieves stress. And most important I think scrapbooks and photos help your children with good self esteem and they feel loved when you create something beautiful with them as the subject.
I hope you will join me this month for The Stamper's Hands On class and create a mini chipboard album for your mom for Mother's Day and build a bridge between you and her.
