On Friday of last week I had my wow scrap-booking class and this two-page spread was one of the set of pages we made.
I usually don't get photos put on the pages right away but on Saturday evening I was looking at some photos of my girls we took before our trip to Utah when we took Shanae to the training center for a 18 month church mission and they seemed to fit the page from the day before so in just a few minutes I had a page completed.
The papers I used for these pages is a new Designer Series paper called Bella Birds. It is soft prints that go so well together. The colors are Chocolate Chip, Bordering Blue, So Saffron, Pink Pirouette. I love the true friends stamp set with this paper.
The circle stamp that has friend on it was used to create the scallop border. I stamped 8 images on So Saffron card-stock and punched them with the new 1 3/4" circle punch from the Holiday catalog. Then I glued the friend part to the back of the Designer papers so the words don't show just the flower design. This creates an elegant scallop border.
I did use the greetings from the stamp set but if you leave off the sayings it can easily be a generic page for any occasion.
To create the flowers I stamped the flower image from True Friends on pink card-stock and cut them out. I then die cut blooms using the Big Shot and put a clear rhinestone brads in the center and attached them to the page with dimensionals. I used glue dots to attach a piece of twine to the page and tied moss organdy ribbon around the twine for a leaf look.
To create the butterfly, I inked the stamp in pink and did a rock and roll technique by rocking the edges of the stamp in Bordering Blue ink, I then colored right on the stamp where the body of the butterfly is with a Bordering Blue marker, huff, then stamp on Whisper White card-stock and cut out and embellish with a small rhinestone clear brad. (I am so glad SU! sells these in a package of their own, now!)
