Wood sheets Wows!

How many of you noticed the new Wood Sheets item# 16309 Texture Cuts found on page 158 of the new idea book and catalog?  I know when I went through the catalog I was so excited to purchase these and see how they work.  I was even more impressed when I received the sheets and started playing with them.  They are thin sheets of wood that have a paper backing to support the wood sheet and prevent them from breaking or chipping.  Here are a few ideas you can do with the new wood sheets. 

Big Shot die boxes:  you can die cut these sheets and make your own wood boxes and cards.

Stamp directly on the wood sheets with either classic inks or craft inks. 

You can watercolor stamped images on the wood sheets with watercolor pencils or classic inks.  Just be careful to use minimal amounts of water. 

You can punch out shapes with either our regular punches or any dies from the Big Shot line and attach them to a card.  Or even punch easily through the sheet to add accents like eyelets or brads.

But my favorite thing I tried and loved was using the Big Shot and the impression folders I created an impressed image into the wood and then added a little chalk for color.

Convention Fancy Favor box

This is the final project we made at my STARZ meeting at convention.  Tammy Wilson, designed this little box and notes cards using the new Fancy Favor box and the new in-color cardstock and Designer Series paper. 

It was a fast project that would make a great gift for anyone. I love the new Razzleberry color and how cheerful the bright color makes this project.  She added a matching ribbon by setting jumbo brads into the box and tying a knot in each end of the ribbon. 

 The note cards could be stamped with different sayings to meet anyone's needs. 

 Here is a pictures of all of those who attended my STARZ meeting, it was a great group of creative women.  Thanks to all of those who helped make the night a success!

"You" mini scrapbook album

Before convention I was looking through the new 2009-2010 catalog and my eye was caught by the file folders and gusseted envelopes found on page 169.  As I looked at them I had an idea pop into my head to make a mini scrapbook album using these new products. 

This is the scrapbook I came up with and taught to my down line at our convention meeting.  I used the gusseted envelopes and decorated the outside with ribbon and butterfly accents (which are so easy to cut out, now we have a punch that does the work for us).  I die cut the letter "you" and added flower accents. 

I cut the file folders into thirds and layered them, punched a couple of holes and tied them all together in book form.  I then had a mini album. 

I stamped or decorated each page with butterfly accents and even folded a page in half to create a pocket perfect for journaling.  I added pictures of the daughter who just turned 15 and some journaling and I had a great mini album that was not too hard to make. 

It works with all the file folders but each one will need the cut edges corner rounded and the 1/2 tabs cut off.  I also added punched tabs to add character and to help you flip the pages. 

Stampin' Up! Big Shot and Circle Circus

I guess you could have said the theme for the projects at my convention meeting was the stamp set Circle Circus.  Everyone must love it as much as I do. 

This beautiful card was created by Michele, she was not able to come to the meeting but she was kind enough to create a card for us all to make.  The card base in the new Rich Razzleberry CS stamped with the bubble image over and over again.  We then cut a Big Shot Top Note out of Old Olive CS and did a direct to paper technique and cut a third of it off and glued it to the card and then tied the top note piece together and hung a tag from it.  The flowers are Die Cut using the Big Shot and the center of the flower is one of the circle circus stamps stamped in black and water colored.  There is a final accent image that was stamped and cut in half and glued to the top note. 

This card takes a little more effort but I think the effort was worth it.

Another Convention meeting card

I told you I would share the convention meeting projects with you this week. 

This card was created by my talented down line Elizabeth.  She also used Stampin' Up! circle circus stamp set and the new Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper.  Her colors were Soft Suede (a terrific new color) and Crushed Curry.  The words are punched using the new Modern Label punch. 

She grouped the stamp images together and finished them off with a punched flower and Rhinestone Clear Brad.

The pattern paper is a perfect match for this card and I love that all the stamp images in the circle circus stamp set can be punched with one of our punches so there is never an imperfect image.

Card from Convention Meeting

Tonight is my convention meeting and my down line are the best.  They have help create the projects for tonight and I think they are great projects. 

This card was created by Monika, she used the scoring blade to create a grid and then stamped an image from Stampin' Up'! circle circus stamp set.  The colors are the new in color Soft Suede with More Mustard accent color and the images are stamped on Very Vanilla. The card is finished with Soft Suede ribbon and the thank you stamp which can be found on the dormant list. 

Getting together with my girls always brings me joy and I can't wait to see everyone in a few hours.

Embossing Folder Elegant Bouquet

Each year I try to make my down line a little gift for attending convention and this year I decided to do this little purse that I made a few months ago for a meeting.  This time I used a roller to create texture on the purse flap and the top note bottom piece was embossed with the new Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Elegant Bouquet.  I sponged over the texture to make it stand out.  The flower is from Stampin' Up! Enjoy Every Moment stamp set and the center of the flower is a silver jumbo brad that has a 1/2 inch circle punched designer paper glued to the top of it.  I added the crushed curry ribbon for handles. 

I hope they like these little gifts, I filled them with different accessories so each one is a surprise.

Playtime for teens

It amazed me how much fun my daughters had at the park.  We had some time to kill and so we stopped at a park and they had fun trying to do the things they loved to do when they were smaller.  You would think that getting bigger would make it easier but alas that was not true.  It was hard to hold your long legs up and pull a much bigger body across the bars and their hands are just not in condition for that type of play anymore.  But even with the harder conditions they had such fun and I enjoyed taking pictures of them just having fun. 

I wanted my page to reflect that fun and so I used bright and cheerful colors.  The colors you use on your page helps tell your story.  The colors I used was the new Crushed Curry and Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry and Ballet Blue.  The title is chipboard letters that were sponged with Classic inks.  And the stamp set I used was the new Lots of Bots, I just left off the words and used the images.

Stampin' Up!'s Circle Circus

The more I play with this stamp set the better I like it.  It is very versatile and can be used for any occasion.  I created these two quick and easy cards.  The bubble background is done by stamping the image over and over again and I added the 'Let's Celebrate" to the inside of one of the circle images and layered that on a black CS Scallop punch.  I also love the new dotted ribbon that can be used on one side dots or the other side is plain. 

The Live, Laugh & Love card is created by using a direct to paper technique, Soft Suede ink on Soft Suede card stock. 

I clipped a circle circus stamped image to some background paper and added two more part circles in the bottom right corner to balance the card. 

New In-colors are perfect together

I love the new in colors, they are so bright and cheerful and they work great together.  This Columbus scrap book page is made using the new in colors Bermuda Bay and Dusty Durango.  I loved how this layout worked so well with Stampin' Up!'s Eastern Bloom stamp set.  It was easy to color in the sticks and flower images with the markers that can now be purchased in the in-colors. 

This page is about my daughter's first year at college.  She went to Columbus Georgia music school and lived right across the street.  It was a perfect world for her and she thrived there and would still be there except they did not hire her Oboe teacher back for the next year so Tysha will be living at home and driving downtown Atlanta to Georgia State this next year.

Hostess Set samples

On Wednesday I shared a card set using the More the Merrier hostess set and I thought I would share a couple other cards that did not go with the set but are made with this stamp set. 

This little card is made using Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo card stock and the hearts are stamped first on Whisper White CS and then on Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series paper and cut out, then glued over white images so the dotted lines are not lost. 

I used the Big Shot for a polka Dot background and rough the dots up a little with a sanding block to help them stand out a bit.  Finished this card off with a ribbon and a greeting that was punched using the new Modern Label punch and a brad. 

This second card has a real fall flair with the acorn image, Big Shot texture background and the new in colors Soft Suede and Dusty Durango.  I used the modern label punch on this card but tucked it under the ribbon the long way to give it a different feel.  

The hole in the front of the card is punched with jumbo circle 1 3/4" punch and the acorn image is punched with the 1 3/8" punch this gives you the look of a matted image when it is not. 

I love the new doted ribbon that comes in all of the in colors, it has dots on one side and plain on the other so you get two looks for one low price. 

The More the Merrier Stampin' Up! Hostess set

The More the Merrier is one of the new hostess sets offered by Stampin' Up! this year free for hostesses whose parties total over $300.  I have loved playing with this set and showed the card on the right as a preview.  I created a set of all Holiday cards using this set that I think turned out really cute. 

The layouts is the same for all four cards just he colors and  designer paper changed.  The papers are in the same Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series paper pack. 

The words are also included in this set and I used a paper punch or just cut a square of Whisper White CS and tucked in under or over the belly band.

Lots of Bots Birthday

Stampin' Up!'s new stamp set Lots of bots is perfect for birthday cards and I wanted to share a birthday cards today since it is my third daughters 15th birthday today. 

It is amazing how fast they grow, even just a few years ago she was a little girl but now she is looking and acting so grown up.  I really feel old sometimes.  I miss doing their hair and having them cuddle in my lap, I miss the barbies and playhouse stuff scatter all over the family room (who would have thought when I was always telling them to pick it up) and listening to them play pretend. 

I decided I need to do more parties for people with small children again,  I miss sharing the ideas for kids parties and doing kid birthday parties.  I miss coming up with ideas for party favors or little holiday treat holders that can be done for a whole class.  They just don't do that kind of thing in high school. (who knew!)

This little stamp set is easy to stamp and use and has a greeting attached to the image that can be used or left off to create the message you want to sent.

So you think you can dance?

My daughters and I have been enjoying the TV series So you think you can dance? I love the theme song as they go to commericals and we all laugh as I try and sing it.  Because of this when I was scrap-booking these pictures I took of my girls singing and dancing on the shore of Lake Allatoona this winter I just had to use the title So you think you can dance? 

The colors were chosen because they matched my pictures.  I used Old Olive, Really Rust and the new Crushed Curry.  The stamp set is the new Circle Circus, which I must say I just love.  It is very versatile and can be used on elegant, fun, girl or boy pages and cards.  And I used the new Big Shot Bigz die from Stampin' Up! called Look Here arrows to help your eye navigate through the page. 

I also used the new Designer Series Paper Razzleberry Lemonade and the Polka dot ribbon Dusty Durango. 

Stampin' Up! Pop-Up Look Here die

Stampin' Up! designed an Exclusive die called Pop-Up Look Here. This die can be used in several ways.  You can use it as a gift card holder, a holder for a pop out note or you can use the arrows to decorate cards or scrapbook pages. 

We made this card at my STARZ down-line meeting and will be making it at my next Hands On Class Friday, August 14th as well as 3 other projects.  You will love this die once you get your hands on it. 

The die cuts out a pop up that is inserted into your card.  You can decorate the pop up however you want.  I created this card using the new colors Bermuda Bay and Mellon Mambo.  I used the markers (yea, we have markers in the new in-colors this year) to color in the words on my stamped images.  The stamp set I used is the new Stampin Up! set On a Pedestal that is new this year.  This set has several images that are designed to create a cake image on a pedestal.  I used one of the cake images for the present by adding a Bermuda Bay bow with a marker. 

I added white gel pen accents on the arrows to draw your attention to them. 

I also showed another sample holding a gift card.  This sample is created with the Enjoy Every Moment Stampin' Up! stamp set.  I used one of the arrows that is die cut as a accent on the front of this card.  The center of the flower is a jumbo silver brad with a 1/2" circle punched from the new designer series paper Razzleberry Lemonade.  This card holds a gift card and Ted just happened to have a gift card that matched my colors perfectly. 

I cut the die from More Mustard card-stock and then cut the arrows from Designer Series paper and glued them to the card-stock arrows where I wanted them. 

This die make a fun card and I hope you will join me for my Hands On Class next month and come play with it yourself.

The Stamper's Open House Success

Friday was my New Catalog Open House and I loved seeing so many of my customers and sharing ideas and project using new products with them.  We had several who decided they just had to have a party of their own so we could show their friends and family some great new projects and the new catalog in the next couple of months.  This cute little bookmark was one of my open house projects that was a big hit.  It is made with a 4" square of Designer Series Papers, I used the new Razzleberry Lemonade paper.  You fold your square in half and open it and fold it in half opposite direction.  This creates 4 squares, cut out one square.  Now place paper down with the inside design on top and fold in one square and put adhesive on the top of that square. (trust me on this one you do want to put glue there) now fold in the other square and glue in to the first one you folded in.  Flip your project over and fold up the corner of the top square.  I stamped a flower using the new stamp set For all you do. (This set is apart of a recruiting special that will be announced July 15th so watch for that) Cut out the flower and glue to square, punch a whole through the flower and top layer of paper and add a brad then use a dimensional to stick that top layer to the rest of the bookmark.  Enjoy this little project that will brighten anyone's day.

The More the Merrier

I love this new hostess set The More the Merrier by Stampin' Up!. The is a level two hostess set and can be chosen for free with any workshop that totals over $350.00.  You can qualify by ordering that amount yourself or collect orders from friends and place them together or have me over for a party and I will put together a fun time of stamping and learning.  This stamp set is one of eleven hostess stamp sets available in the new 2009-2010 catalog. Asian Artistry by Stampin' Up!

The 2009-2010 catalog has some great new hostess sets and Asian Artistry is one of them.  This set was not one I liked looking at it in the catalog until I checked out the samples made with it. 

I got this set and started to play and I like what you can create with it.  It has 5 stamps in the set. I think a great stamp set is one with a saying, main images and then a stamp to create a background and that is what you find in this level 2 hostess set.  I love the dragonfly stamp that creates a great background or accent.

Stampin' Up! Lots of Bots debut

Lots of Bots is a new stamp set that you will find in Stampin' Up! 2009-2010 Catalog that debut on July 1st. 

 I love the characters you find in this set.  Those robots are just so darn cute.  You can use them with their sayings like I did here or alone and put any saying you want with them.  The color I used here are a few of the new in colors.  The card is Crushed Curry with a designer series paper layer and then Rich Razzleberry layer then the watercolor paper with the stamped design. 

I added a strip of Rich Razzleberry card-stock and a corduroy button tied with linen thread for a final accent.

Stampin' Up! Animal Stories sample

This week Stampin' Up!'s deal of the week features the scallop edge punch that is used on this Animal Stories card.  I love these new in-colors together, they are: Soft Suede, Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry. 

I used a large circle punch to create the two accents.  one I glue to the top left corner and cut half off.  With the slot punch I created a ribbon slot and fed the new polka dot ribbon in Dusty Durango and tied it with bow using linen thread. The extra half circle was stamped with thank you and added to the bottom right corner.  I cut off one inch of the bottom of the card and cut a strip of Dusty Durango to fit below the cut card and scalloped the edge with the Scallop Edge Punch.  I fun simple way to say Thanks.
