Thankful for little girls

This past weekend we did some spring cleaning that was a couple years overdue, we cleaned out our storage room. Yikes. We have always moved every 2-5 years and that has keep us from collecting things we don't use or need.  Moving is a good reason to go through things.  Well we have lived here 10 years and it was time to go through things....  The reason I tell you this is that in cleaning out the storage room I found some old and I mean 15 year old report cards for my oldest daughter and inside one of these report cards from kindergarten the teacher had put this adorable picture of Shanae at the Thanksgiving feast they had in class. 

I fell in love with my child all over again.  She was the cutest child and acted so proper all the time.  I had to stop cleaning (any excuse I can find right?) and put this photo on a scrapbook page so I could remember how thankful I am for my little girls even when they grow up and move away. 

This page was one of my wow scrapbook pages we did in my 4th Friday class.  The layout is pretty simple I thought I should copy myself and create a page like this one for spring but that is for another day.  The layout is 12x12 layered with an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of coordinating cardstock with a torn edge.  Add 3 accents and a title and a little background stamping and you have a wow page.  Enjoy

Stampin' Up! A-Z stamp and Fancy Flower punch

This was one of the samples we made at leadership that got me excited about Stampin' Up! Fancy Flower punch.  I liked the look of the flower stamped with Dot Dot Dot background stamp and then punched using the punch, add a 3/4" circle punch a button and some linen thread and you have a darling flower to layer on any card or scrapbook page.  The background on the white cardstock is Stampin' Up!'s A to Z stamp inked with Soft Suede ink. 

The paper pieced background is effective in creating an interesting card and the paper stem with the Old Olive ribbon knot is a great accent for the flower and creates the look of leafs.

Stampin' Up! Chocolate Bunny

This week is my Wow Scrapbook class and I think I will do a page using Stampin' Up!'s chocolate Bunny stamp that I used on this card.  (If you want to join me and make 3 two-page spreads email at wendy@thestamper today for Friday's class)

This card is copy of a sample you will find in the Occasions Mini catalog.  My card is really Bashful Blue not that you can tell it in this picture, I am not sure what happened...

The bunny is embossed with Chocolate Chip ink on Close to Cocoa cardstock and he is glued to an oval punch and a leaf image that was cut using the Big Shot machine.  I love the strip of embossed dots.  This is create by embossing with the Big Shot and Stampin' Up!'s new perfect polka dots textured impressions folder.  I have used these to texture the whole card but love the look of adding a small piece of cardstock the same color as the base of the card that was embossed.  It creates a wonderful look. 

Remember Easter is just a couple of weeks away so don't delay get your Easter cards and treat holder made so they are ready to be sent out. 

Stampin' Up! Fancy Flower punch

I took a few minutes to scrapbook a page about leadership and the fun I had with my downline in Phoenix this January.  I pulled out one of the projects we made during the make and takes Stampin' Up! provides for us.  I used the 8x8 page and flipped it upside down and added it to 12x12 cardstock so I would have room for more pictures. 

This page accents were stamped with Stampin' Up!'s With All My Heart stamp set and then punched using the Extra Large Fancy Flower punch.  (I thought I would not need to add this punch to my collections until we used it at leadership and then I came home and ordered it.)   To get the different colors on the Friend stamp we used the marker technique.  I like the new corduroy buttons in Real Red and Pretty in Pink.  I hope these carry over to the new catalog that is coming out in July. 

I think the best part about being apart of Stampin' Up! is the friendships and my downline are my friends and I enjoy spending time with them.  Events are work but they are play too.  If you have ever considered becoming a demo, join my STARZ group in March and take advantage of Stampin' Up! recruiting special. 

Stampin' Up! Good Neighbor Tri-fold card

Sale-a-bration is coming to an end and I wanted to use Stampin' Up!'s Good Neighbor stamp set and designed this card for one of my workshops this past week.  I really like this little set.  At first glance I thought it might be too small but once I started playing with it I really liked the size and I love how the roof can easily be replaced....  (Okay, really created but replaced is on my mind because we are having to replace the roof on our house this month because of storm damage, I wish it could be replaced as easy as I can change the roofs on the homes I stamp with this set.  I am not looking forward to all the hammering and pounding and mess that getting a new roof creates)

This tri-fold card is a 9x5 1/2" piece of Old Olive cardstock and I scored it at 4 1/4" and then 6 3/4".  I then folded the small one forward and the other back to create the folds.  I added Stampin' Up!'s Sweet Pea paper stack papers to the inside and the front.  (I just love this large paper stack and how the paper are double sided and match and yet have different color combinations, it is a very good price per sheet as well.) 

I then add the stamped image that was backed with both Old Olive and Not Quite Navy cardstocks.  Glue this to the left side only so you don't glue your card shut.  I added one of the Chocolate Chip Sending Love Epoxy Brads for an accent.  

This card would be a great welcome to the neighborhood or congrats on your new home card or any generic card. 

The inks I used are Old Olive and Not quite Navy to match the papers.  Enjoy

Stampin' Up! I (heart) Hearts scrapbook page

  I really enjoyed my About Me Album class we started last month and this was one of the pages.  The idea for this class is that we scrapbook ourselves.  Most scrapbookers scrapbook their families and events but rarely created pages about themselves so I thought an album class would be a perfect opportunity for us to put ourselves in a scrapbook. 

This page was designed for you to write about how you feel love or give love or about those you love and why.  I really liked how this page turned our with the large chipboard heart from the On Board books that can be found on page 34 of the Occasions mini catalog.  We covered the heart with Sending Love Specialty Designer Series paper and used some of this paper for the accent strip.

The stamp sets I used were Stampin' Up!'s I (heart) hearts, and Enjoy.  I stamped the different pieces in Pretty in Pink, Real Red and Chocolate chip inks on Vanilla cardstock and the letters are from the Stampin' Up! stamp set Jumble Alphabet using one of the hearts from I heart hearts for the "o' in love.  And as a final accent I used the sending Love Epoxy brads as a final touch.

Stampin' Up! Big Shot Milk Carton Die

This little milk carton is so cute and several can be cut at one time using the Big Shot and the milk carton die.  This little project was done at the leadership conference I attended in January and thought I would share it with  you.  I love how the die cuts and scores the box so all you have to do it decorate it.  This milk carton is not very big so decorating it can be a snap. 

The clip holds the top closed and the ribbon adds just a little accent. The words and flower accent come in Stampin' Up! stamp set "With All My Heart".  To get just the words from the stamp make sure your stamp is clean and then use a marker to color in just the part of the stamp you want.  This technique is called omitting.  I love that a brad is the perfect center for this little flower.

Petal Pizzazz Sweet Treat by Stampin' Up!

I have really enjoyed using Stampin' Up!'s sweet treat cups and in trying to create a flower that would be simple to stamp I discovered that Stampin' Up! Petal Pizzazz stamp set has a perfect flower that when you punch out the middle with the 1 3/4" circle punch it leaves the perfect petals to frame the sweet treat cup.  Petal Pizzazz also has a leaf stamp that accents this flower. 

I used a piece of Basic Black cardstock cut 4 1/4 x 11 and folded it in the middle and then cut off 2 1/2 inches from the front of the card.  I added a 4x5 1/4 piece of real red cardstock to the inside and scalloped a 1 x 4 1/4 piece of whisper white cardstock for the the edge using the sale-a-bration scallop trim punch.  I punched the flower center out before cutting the flower completely out so I had something to hole onto as I punched.  If you want to be able to remove the candies punch a 1 3/4 in circle in the black cardstock and a piece of white cardstock that is glued to the back of the front to create a pocket for the tag to be placed and remember not to use the sticky back of the sweet treat if you are going to use the tag as the holder for your window to remove the candies. 

This card takes a couple of minutes to make but it has such a wow factor when it is done.  Enjoy

Stampin' Up!'s Vintage Vogue scrapbook page

I have had this picture of me and a couple of my best stampin' up friends stuck to my filing cabinet for years now and when I was looking for pictures for this scrapbook page we made at leadership this year I thought this picture was perfect. 

Wendy, Sandi and I try to always get a picture with Sandi in the middle because years ago the joke was the two Wendy's are the bread and Sandi is the filling of a Sandiwich.  This is probably one of my favorite pictures we have ever taken because it shows the true joy of being together.  The best thing Stampin' Up! has ever brought into my life are treasured friendships with not only fellow demonstrators, but my downline and customers as well.

This scrapbooking page was created using the Vintage Vogue stamp set and the colors: Bashful Blue, Crushed Curry, Real Red, Old Olive and Soft Suede. I think the paper piercing holes above the picture adds just that last little touch.

Stampin' Up! "With All My Heart" tag

I was going through some samples and came across a few of the make and take projects from leadership and decided to share a few with you.  This tag was one of the projects and I came home and added it to a card.  I used Stampin' Up!'s With All My Heart stamp set and the Extra Large Fancy Flower punch. 

Stampin' Up! designed the image in With All My Heart to fit into the center of the Fancy Flower punch so you can get lots of dimension but still have a flower that is simple to use because you can just punch it out.  The colors we used here are: Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Rose Red, Soft Suede and Whisper White card stocks. 

The tag is stamped tone on tone using Stampin' Up! Dot Dot Dot a la carte stamps found on page 42 of the Occasions mini catalog.  These little texture stamps are perfect for that last little accent or for the kissing technique.  Enjoy

Stampin' Up! Extra Large Two-Step Bird punch card

I thought this card was very creative and has such a fun look to it.  This was another card from my downline meeting last week.  This card was created by Michelle and uses Stampin' Up! extra large two-step bird punch, (try saying that 3 times fast, ha ha) And Stampin' Up!'s new Perfect Polka Dots Textured impression folder.  That is what gives the roof such a great texture.  She used the new embosslite butterfly die and the Sale-a-bration Scallop Trim Border punch. 

Michelle lovse the white gel pen and always uses it in such a way that it adds just that last little touch.  She used it for the eye of the bird but also to add just a little pop to the scallop trim border punch strip and to highlight the leaves on the tree branch. 

This card opens from the bottom and that is how she punched the opening for the bird to peek out of the birdhouse. 

I hope you enjoy this card as much as I did. I have very creative downline and always enjoy seeing their work.

Oval punched Bunny

The card of the day was created by Linda at my meeting this past weekend.  I have a meeting every other month for anyone who has joined Stampin' Up! family in my STARZ group.  It is a support group to help you grow your businesses and get ideas. 

We talk about business and then we make projects and we also exchange cards so we have samples to show our customers. 

I thought this bunny card was cute and the punched bunny would also make a great accent image on a scrapbook page.

To create the bunny punch: one wide oval, 6 large ovals, and a 1 3/8 circle from Whisper white card stock then sponge the edges with Chocolate chip ink.  Punch 4 small oval from a pink printed paper and sponge those edges as well.  To assemble glue 2 large ovals to the back of the 3/8" circle for the back legs, tie a bow around the top of this image then glue to card.  In the wide oval punch two holes for the eyes and insert black brads and punch one hole for the nose and insert a pink brad, add black lines for mouth and eyebrows and pink watercolor cheeks,  then using dimensionals attach ears to the back of the wide oval and attach to the card at the bow. Add front legs with dimensionals to the 3/8" circle to complete the bunny.  Enjoy

He seems like a lot of work but once you do one I think you will find he is not too hard. 

Stampin' Up! Pocket Silhouettes Butterfly card

The card I wanted to share with you today was created by Cindy for my exchange at my STARZ downline meeting this past weekend.  I thought this card was really beautiful. 

She stamped Stampin' Up!'s Pocket Silhouettes stamp set in several colors on top of each other to create the look of a field in bloom.  I really liked this technique, I have own Stampin' Up!'s Pocket Silhouettes stamp set for a couple of years and I love it but I always stamp it as individuals and never thought about stacking them on top of each other like this.  I think it is a fun technique. 

The butterfly were created with Stampin' Up!'s Embosslits Die Beautiful Wings.  This die cuts and embosses the butterfly images when you run it through the Big Shot machine.  I liked how she created the center of the butterfly with a 3/4" circle punch and some linen thread. She layered the butterfly using dimensionals so it appears to be flying over the field.  The colors of the cardstock layers are: Soft Suede, Regal Rose, So Saffron and Whisper White.  She stamped the friend to Friend with Soft Suede ink. 

The last detail I wanted to point out to you is the border, it is hard to see in the picture but she punched a strip of So Saffron with the Eyelet Border punch and then she crimped it with the Crimper to give it added texture. 

Garden from the Heart by Stampin' Up!

This past weekend was my STARZ downline meeting and we had a great time together.  I thought I would share some of the card swaps from that meeting over the next few days. 

This card was Monika's.  It is created with Stampin' Up!'s Garden from the Heart stamp set.  The cardstock is Kraft with Natural cream belly band that was stamped with the herbs stamp and then watercolor with Eggplant Envy and Mellow Moss.  She created the lacy border with the Sale-a-bration Scallop Trim Border bunch that you can earn free with a $50.00 purchase until the end of March. 

The words come from my favorite stamp set in the Occasions mini catalog Well Scripted.  I just love the script with the type word on top and these words fit into the tag punches which I have found helpful.

Stampin' Up! Pendant Park Stamp Set

I was preparing for a workshop I had last week and decided to do the diaper wipe technique and wanted to do it with a stamp I had never used before, as I was going through my stash I came across Stampin' Up!'s stamp set Pendant Park.  I got this for free at convention I think?  And I never used it because I was not sure about it.  Well, I should have picked it up before now.  Because it is easy to use and turns out so nice and the border piece is just beautiful. 

I loved how the bush turned out using different colors of green refills, I used Always Artichoke, Old Olive, Certainly Celery and Crushed Curry and then just stamped the park bench in Chocolate Chip ink after stamping the bush.  The border from this set is my favorite and I used the diaper wipe technique on it as well.   I used the slit punch and added a 1/2" chocolate chip circle then a old olive brad to finish the look.  Enjoy, I think I might do this card for my club night tomorrow.

Top Note goodies bag

I was getting together a care package for my daughter who is serving a mission for our church and these pins that I made at my STARZ meeting this weekend were sitting on my desk.  I quickly through together this little goodies bag holder using a small cello bag and The Big Shot top note die,  cut from Textured Crushed Curry cardstock.  I added the Go Green stamped image that I had punched using the large oval and added a little strip of Garden Green for an accent. 

When they were all done I was proud of how cute they looked and I hope my daughter and her companion enjoys them as well.

A few weeks ago I showed the pin on a card but this was another option that I thought was cute. 

Stampin' Up! Chocolate Bunny

  I loved this chocolate bunny the first time I saw him and now that it is getting close to Easter I have enjoyed stamping with him.  This standing card was created by stamping the Chocolate Bunny with Close to Cocoa Craft ink onto Close to Cocoa card stock.  (The craft ink give him a better look) and I cut him out. 

The fence is made by punch several medium jewelry tag punches and gluing them to a 1/4" strip.  I used Very Vanilla on this card but it works great with Whisper White as well. 

To make a standing card cut a regular card size (this one is tall so it was 4 1/4" x 11) fold that in half and then fold the top of the card in half again creating a mountain.  Then decorate a postcard piece of card stock (4 1/4 x 5 1/2) and glue it to the bottom half of the folded card.  You must have something sticking up on the inside of the card so when you stand it up it does not slip closed.  On this card I used a ribbon and a punched greeting that is stuck with dimensionals to keep the card standing. 

The colors I used are:  Barely Banana base, Chocolate chip accents, Certainly celery and Very Vanilla.  I created this card for a class and I am also used it for my down line meeting this past weekend.  Enjoy

Circle Flower of Wow Page

I love these circle flower and enjoyed creating this scrapbook page for my Wow Scrapbooking Class.  I hold Wow Scrapbooking class on the 4th Friday of each month at 10am and repeated at 7:30 pm.  We make 3 two-page spread that you can take home and drop your pictures on. 

I enjoyed dropping pictures of this page of my daughter and her bright blue eyes.  Wow Scrapbooking class is a fun way to scrapbook, you get to stamp with friends, you get several pages done in a quick amount of time and someone else designed them for you.

Circle Flower Fun

  This past week I have had so much fun with these circle flowers.  They are kind of funky and very modern, easy to make and look great created from any paper or fabric.  I made this little card today to put into my newsletter and thought I would share it here as well. 

I used Rich Razzleberry card stock for base and then Pale Plum card stock I added a piece of whisper white that I punched the edge using the Sale-a-bration Scallop Trim Border punch.  (you can get this for free until the end of March with every $50.00 of merchadise you order.) The circles are cut using the Big Shot and the circle die from the Cottage Wall Designer Series papers.  I added a white Jumbo brad and dimensioned it to the card.  The stem is a scrap of designer series paper and the leaf is one of the circles that I pleated to look like a leaf.  I stamped the birthday greeting using Stampin' Up! Well Scripted stamp set from the occasions mini catalog and punched it with the small tag punch and punched a Rich Razzleberry tag using the large tag punch. 

I hope you enjoy creating circle flowers as much as I did this week.

Shamrock Fun!

I don't know about you but I can't believe it is March already especially if I look out my window right now at the 2-3 inches of snow that in on the ground here in Atlanta.  We don't get snow for years and then several times in one year.  I can't wait to make some snow pages to put the great pictures I have been taking on but until then I thought I would share a card that I adapted from Monika's card she shared with me. 

What a perfect St. Patrick's Day card.  The Shamrock is created using Stampin' Up! Full Heart punch.  I punched three different prints from the Old Olive Designer Series papers, (you can also do a 4 leaf if you want) I added a stem from Stampin' Up!'s Petal Pizzazz stamp set and I used the stem to create the grass as well.  The background was created using the Big Shot and the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder.  Before attaching the squares to the page punch a hole and add the Jumbo brad.  The greeting is from Stampin' Up!'s Many Merry Message stamp set and is punched from Whisper White cardstock with the Modern Label punch after stamping.  To create the shadow in Chocolate chip cut a scrap using the Big Shot Movers and Shapers die and punch window set.
