Standing Calendar

  Customer Appreciation was a huge success, everyone loved the projects and today I thought I would share another of the projects we made for those of you who could not make it. 

I did a similar project to this one a couple of years ago and when I did not repeat it last year, several of my customers let me know how much they missed their standing calendar so I decided to do another one the same but different.

 

This standing calendar is a 4 1/4"x 11 folded in half like a card and you decorate all four sides, one for each quarter. I used the Tag Corner punch without the corner guide to create a slit in the bottom of each card side and the Curly Label punch is incerted to make this calendar stand. 

The base of the card is Soft Suede card-stock.  The accent colors are: Bermuda Bay, Rose Red, Sahara Sand and I used Stampin' Up!'s Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Papers in 2x2 square accents pieces and 3x2 accents pieces.  The calendars were printed from the internet. 

 I used Soft Suede Dotted ribbon for an accent and bow on each side.  The stamp images are from Stampin' Up! stamp set A Flower for all Seasons which were watercolored with: Bermuda Bay, Rose Red, Soft Suede and More Mustard and the Aqua Painters.   

I know I will use this standing calendar on my desk all year and I hope you enjoy yours. 

Stampin' Up!' Wandering Words

 Stampin' Up!'s wandering words stamp set has three long stamps that include a thanksgiving, Christmas and Valentine stamp with wandering words.  I loved the Valentine and Christmas stamps a lot.  For my customer appreciation event that is being held today I made this card as one of the projects.  It was created with Melon Mambo card-stock, a 2 x 6 piece of the Night and Day Specialty paper that can be found in the Holiday mini catalog, I laid this across the bottom and trimmed the edges and the top right corner piece is an edge I trimmed off.  I used Garden Green, Basic Black and Melon Mambo markers to ink the design and finished everything off with a heart punch from Melon Mambo DSP. 

This is a quick and easy card to make and yet it sends the right message. 

Customer Appreciation Class

I am getting excited for my Customer Appreciation Event that will be Friday, December 11, at 10am and repeated at 7:30pm.  This is the time of the year for me to give you, my customers, a gift and that gift is a free Hands On class.  We will be making 4 projects: this post-it note holder, a standing calendar card, a Valentines card and an ornament made from the Sweet Treat cups. 

I have been cutting paper and cleaning and decorating my home for this special event.  Ted's making treats as well.  I look forward to celebrating the holidays with you when you attend this event.

New Black and White Album Club

 It is that time of year again when I start coming up with ideas for my Album clubs for next year.  I was excited to create a Black and White plus one color album for this next year.  You will be able to choose the accent color you want, the page here is just an example of what I mean by Black and White plus one color.  I used red but you could use any of Stampin' Up!'s 48 colors or current in colors.   This album can be created for a wedding album or use the pages for your family albums, it could be a heritage album for either any ancestor or a baby album.   

Album clubs meet once a quarter and make three two-page spreads.  You can bring photos to add to your pages or take them home and add photos later.  The cost is $30.00 a quarter.  You can pay the month before the class or the entire year at one time.  You are committed to the whole years class and if you can't attend a class you can pick up the supplies or pay me a small fee to make them for you.  My black and white album club will meet Saturday from 10am-2pm on March 20, 2010, June 19, 2010, September 18, 2010 and December 18, 2010.

Stampin' Up!'s A Brand New Year

 One of the single stamps available in the Holiday Mini catalog is Stampin' Up!'s stamp called A Brand New Year.  I used this single stamp on a card I did at one of my classes last month and again for an card exchange I was involved in.  I liked the design of this stamp with all the words that represent a brand new year.  I used unusual colors together and yet I think they work.  It is Purely Pomegranate and More Mustard and Whisper White. 

The card is folded in half and then cut 2" off the front and added the layers to the inside that show.  It is white card-stock rolled with the Whimsy roller with Purely Pomegranate ink and layered with More Mustard card-stock.  I added a jumbo white grommet and a knot of Purely Pomegranate ribbon.  The stamp accent was stamped with Purely Pomegranated ink on white and more mustard card-stock and I cut the goblet from the more mustard and glued it to the white card-stock.

Envelope Album with Stampin' Up! True Friend

I few weeks ago at one of my Customer events they asked me to create a mini scrapbook they could use as a gift.  I adapted a pattern one of my down-line shared with me a few months ago and created this Envelope Scrap book album using Stampin' Up! True Friend stamp set and the Night and Day Designer Series papers. I used these colors because I thought they would work for either boy, girl, adult male or female.  

This album is created from a 8 1/2 x 11" piece of black card-stock scored at 4, 4 1/4, 8 3/4 and 9 inches.  I then scalloped the edge (the end with the 2" before score line) with Stampin' Up! scallop edge punch and added a 1x 8 1/2 inch piece of red card-stock behind scallop edge and a 1 1/4x 8 1/4 " piece of black and white designer series paper. 

You created the belly band from 2 x 11 inch piece of card-stock scored, 4, 4 3/8, 9, 9 3/8 inches.  Glue around pouch over lapping ends and add accent piece and bow to belly band.  The band will be a little big because you need to allow extra space for when the album is filled with photos.

The inside of the book is created using 3 legal size envelopes you seal them and cut one at 6, 7, and 8 inches long.  I decorated the front and back of these envelopes with black and white designer papers and then punch each envelope with a half of a 1 1/4" circle punch. 

The envelopes are attached to the pouch cover with three 2 1/4" x 4 1/8 inch pieces of red card-stock folded in half.   Glue the piece of red card-stock to the left side of the center of the cover with the fold edge to the left side.  Keepthe card-stock folded and glue the longest envelope to this flap and then glue the next red piece to that envelope and repeat until all envelopes are glued inside book on top of each other.  Add an 1 1/8 piece of red card-stock to the top envelope to finish off the look. 

Each envelope has a pull out page that I decorated and added a tab so it can easily pull out.  These pages can be used as journaling of spots for more pictures. 

I added accents using Stampin' Up! True Friend stamp set and Basic Black and Real Red markers.  Some of the accents were punch using the 1 1/4" circle punch and then an accent color using the 1 3/8" circle punch and the scallop circle punch. 

Stampin Up!'s Christmas Countdown

 I purchased Stampin' Up!'s Christmas Countdown home decor item last year and never did anything with it, I had even purchased a frame that I thought would work, but I did not take the time to create a countdown with it.  This year I had a customer want to make one of these and so I agreed to create something if she purchased the supplies she would need to copy it. Sometimes I will use any excuse to motivate myself and having a customer wanting this helped me take the time to create my own Christmas Countdown.

I was so pleased at how it turned out.  I wish you could see it in person because the pictures does not do it justice.  I used a large frame and cut sheet metal to fit into the frame.  I applied the Christmas Countdown Home decor item to the center of the sheet metal and then created little presents using Designer Paper squares and applied the rub on numbers to each one.  I wanted the countdown to be a little different than just the date so I created a pocket by layering the Designer paper squares to red card-stock with sticky strip and inserted a Christmas Quote a day in the pocket.  I added a tab punch and bow to the tab punch so it is easy to pull the quote in and out and gives the designer square a present look.  I then attached a half of a magnetic business card magnet to each present so it sticks to the sheet metal board and can be easily changed.

I think my family will enjoy reading the quotes hidden in each pocket as they change the countdown numbers each day.
